All lessons are 10 minutes a day, Monday - Thursday for 6 weeks in the indoor, heated pool at Village by the Sea in Wells, ME. Once children are fully skilled, they will practice ISR’s survival techniques fully clothed during lessons.Lessons for the littlest children (6 -18 months)
Lessons for children 6 through 18-months will teach your child to find their float from any position. There they will rest and breathe, and to be able to maintain this life-saving position until help arrives.
*Infants must be able to attain a seated position
on their own prior to starting ISR lessons.Lessons for toddlers through early childhood (1.5 - 6 years old)
Lessons for children 1 1/2 - 6 years old focus on teaching the swim-float-swim survival sequence. Children learn to swim with their head down, then roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the edge of the pool where they can either crawl out or can be rescued.
Please note:
Children cannot have anything to eat or drink 2 hours prior to ISR lessons. -

Who is in the pool? Parent, child & certified instructor
Designed for families who want to prioritize water safety but can’t commit to a full six-week ISR session, this program offers one lesson per week over three consecutive weeks. Parents are required to join their child in the pool and should be prepared to teach their children key skills such as breath control & floating with the guidance of a certified instructor.
These lessons prioritize safety before fun because competent swimmers become confident swimmers! Click here to reserve a spot.
*Three lessons are a great introduction to the safe swim program, but your child can only self-rescue by completing ISR training.
